Uganda's Leading Organic Farmers

Welcome To Aspenplus

Aspenplus Enterprises started in 2021 and has since evolved into a dynamic Farmers’ Forum dedicated to promoting small-scale farmers through the adoption of Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs), value addition, and improved market access.

Our mission is to empower smallholder farmers by enhancing productivity, ensuring quality standards, and linking them to sustainable markets. In line with this, Aspenplus has recently initiated the establishment of Farmers’ Corners within gazetted markets to strengthen farmer visibility, improve product quality, and promote better engagement between producers and consumers.

Aspenplus operates across the country, promoting farmers’ direct access to markets through improved production, better post-harvest management, and practical skills development. The organization works closely with Advocates for the Public Spaces to promote the use and transformation of free spaces into active farmers’ corners.

Over the past year, Aspenplus has been advancing the Sustainable Development Goals by bridging the gap between local farmers and international agricultural agencies. Together with Advocates for the Public Spaces, a member of the World Farmers Market Coalition, Aspenplus has successfully established farmers’ corners in seven markets across the Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area. The long-term goal is to create fully self-sustaining farmers’ markets that empower communities and strengthen local economies.

Uganda’s rich green landscape and agriculture-based economy offer vast opportunities for food security, sustainable farming, and community resilience. Aspenplus is committed to helping farmers harness these opportunities and transform agriculture into a pathway for growth and self-reliance.

About Aspenplus

Eco-Friendly Products Can Be Made From Scratch.

Agriculture remains the backbone of Uganda’s economy and society. More than 70 percent of the population depends on farming for food, income, and daily survival. Across rural communities, agriculture provides employment, supports household nutrition, and sustains local economies. It also plays a key social role, keeping families together, passing knowledge across generations, and anchoring communities to the land.

Despite this importance, most Ugandan farmers still operate at a subsistence level. The majority grow just enough food to feed their families, with little surplus left for sale.
